Hannah Farley an educator at the University of New England and Central Maine Community College. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in fiction from the University of New Hampshire, a Master of Arts in English from Missouri State University, and a Bachelors of Art in English from Missouri State University. She has taught at colleges and universities across the country as well as working in special education for several years.

Hannah was a poetry editor for Moon City Review. Her works have been published in The Florida Review, Natural Bridge, and Moon City Review.

“Harrisburg, One Week Later” Moon City Review

This poem was the winner of the 2015 Missouri State University Undergraduate Poetry Competition, judged by poet Debra Kang Dean. Of Farley’s poem, Debra Kang Dean notes, “Scrutinizing the American Dream, ‘Harrisburg, One Week Later’ is not pretty, but it is beautiful in its enactments.  In ‘a flat voice,’ to borrow a phrase from James Wright, it appeals to multiple senses, and, using minimal punctuation, renders a scene simultaneously real and surreal, its lines trailing off, except for one:  ‘The other was gone.’”
